‘The Retrospective Model’ Tyson, N. for ‘Time Space Existence - Miami & Chicago 2021’ European Cultural Centre May 2022

A series of analytical models of the Sharanam Centre for Rural Development in Pondicherry, South India, by architect Jateen Lad. Models exhibited in 2021 offer a retrospective reading of the built work, helping to communicate design intentions and real outcomes. Three constructs – topography, spatial sequence and detail assembly show the architectural and material strategies through a range of scales. The triptych displayed alongside large format photographic images communicate the hand built community building to a new audience in Miami USA.

Models designed and made in collaboration with Jateen Lad, fabricated in the workshops at Leeds School of Architecture by Masters students from Field Works studio and completed at Chung Tyson Workshop Manchester.
